Alicia Brown

MPT, CIDN, NASM-CPT

Co-Owner / Physical Therapist / Personal Trainer

Masters of Physical Therapy, Certified Dry Needling Specialist, National Academy of Sports Medicine - Certified Personal Trainer

Alicia graduated from the University of New England in Biddeford, ME in 2001 with a Masters of Physical Therapy. A Physical Therapist in Southern NH for over 20 years specializing in orthopedics and manual therapy, Alicia emphasizes treating each client as a whole person, not just an injury. She values the importance of manual therapy for all of her clients, integrating techniques such as dry needling, instrument-assisted manual therapy, and cupping as part of most treatment plans. Education is also an important emphasis for all of her treatment sessions - the more a client understands about his/her injury, the better the compliance and overall outcome in healing. As a full-time PT and mom of two young girls, Alicia has minimal spare time, but always enjoys skiing, running, or cycling with her family, partaking in family game night, and catching a weekly yoga class.

Michelle Dowling

OTD, OTR/L, CHT, LSVT

Occupational Therapist / Yoga Instructor

Doctorate of Occupational Therapy, Occupational Therapist, Certified Hand Therapist, LSVT BIG program for movement disorders certification, certified yoga instructor

Michelle has been certified in yoga for 5 years and has been providing group fitness classes for over 20 years. After decades of classes including toning, interval and cardio training, Michelle has settled into the practice of yoga. As an accomplished occupational therapist in orthopedics, neurological disorders and now in low vision rehabilitation, Michelle has merged her expertise as an OT with the OM of yoga.

Understanding that much of one’s health and prevention of disease is based on movement of fascia, enhanced circulation, proper nutrition, and improved tissue balance is why Michelle loves teaching yoga. Often, she will use yoga poses to facilitate tissue health for patients who are recovering from surgery, perhaps have issues with muscle balance, or improving outcomes with neurological disorders such as with Parkinson’s Disease.

To quote Michelle: “Exercise is the 401k for healthy tissue integrity; you need to invest in yourself now so you can be well for the future.” Try yoga, you might just love it!

Heidi Emond,  NASM- CPT, CES, SF, SFS, Certified Nutrition Coach

NASM Certified Personal Trainer, Corrective Exercise Specialist, Senior Fitness, Stretching & Flexibility Coach. Nutrition Coach (in progress)

Heidi has achieved her NASM certifications in Personal Training, Corrective Exercise, Stretching & Flexibility, and Senior Fitness. Her main focus is on corrective exercise, injury prevention, functional mobility, and helping maintain independence as we age.

After years of trying to overcome her own physical challenges due to early onset arthritis, back, and leg issues, she decided that the best way to help her body was to learn, in depth, how the body is meant to function. Now equipped with the fundamental knowledge on body mechanics, Heidi wants to help people in similar situations learn how to work with their bodies to keep moving forward.

She understands the importance of patience, and listening to feedback in helping clients meet their goals. Knowing first hand that sometimes the slow and steady approach is what our bodies need. In her free time, Heidi enjoys hiking with her husband and golden retriever, snowshoeing, gardening, knitting, and reading.
